Following on from the release of teaser single ‘Nothing Changes’ last month, Charlie Plews is back as he unveils his debut EP, ‘Reflections’. Adding to his creative momentum, the project looks to further cement Plews as a fast rising underground talent. Highlighting his sonic versatility, ‘Reflections’ highlights both the powerful and vulnerable nature of Charlie Plews’ artistry. Featuring distorted, uncompromising anthems, as well as stripped back, vulnerable ballads, the project’s name is a retrospective recount of Plews’ navigation of modern life. The EP will also be available on limited edition CD, available from the artist's bandcamp. The EP also features ‘What’s Lost Isn’t Forgotten’, a stripped-back, heartfelt acoustic ballad that captures a different side of Charlie Plews. Opening with a gentle, intimate simplicity, the track steadily swells, layering emotion and texture until it reaches a crushing, plugged-in crescendo. It’s a raw and affecting cut that showcases Plews’ ability to balance restraint and release, without losing the clarity of his songwriting voice. Speaking about the single, he explains, "I wrote 'IT’S GONNA HAPPEN!' about the stresses of modern life, trying not to get burnt out whilst trying to make a name for yourself. I was reflecting on the high work rate necessary to be an independent artist in 2025, as well as the many pleasures and pains that go with it. I wanted the song to reflect that journey, with the idea of the world beating down on you, before the chorus reaches out and offers a glimmer of hope." Adding about the EP, “‘Reflections’ as a whole revolves around the hardships of entering adulthood, touching on heartbreak, the complex relationship we have with social media, and interpersonal vulnerability. Whilst writing this project, I really wanted to take a deep dive into the things I was experiencing and what I was feeling, I wanted to be true to myself.”
